FROM TEXT GENERATION TO THE WRITING RHYTHM

Abstract

We aim at verifying how writing rhythm process is demarked. We believe that the process is one of the factors that provide the reduction in the chasm between written and oral modalities. According to the adopted methodology, the punctuation is proper for inferring that rhythm, as well as its absence. Besides that, the pragmatic functions are believed to cooperate in the inference of the rhythm, according to Dik (1989). The analyzed data are composed by written texts of interviews. Those texts are from a data bank of the research group of studies called Discourse and Grammar (RJ),that leads with studies in the area of Functional Linguistics.
