Resumo

The digital image processing assists in the extraction of information or features, that are of interest to interpretations cartographic developed in the area of Remote Sensing. Thus the software CARTOMORPH is development by group of study related with the Morphology Mathematics of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of UNESP, with intention to be software of public domain that contains codes of digital image process, implemented in the functions library available for free to users. Therefore, this task show the results obtained with the implementation of shadow index, Normalized Saturation Value Difference Index (NSVDI). The result obtained with this task was the implementation of the mentioned index and the processing of the preselected tests images, where it was possible check the correct implementation of the operator and the potential of using it use in the Cartography.
