Electrochemical nanoplasmonic sensors
Abstract
We discuss nanoplasmonic sensors by analyzing different parameters in order to quantitatively assess their overall sensing performance. They have attracted much attention for their electrochemical potential to offer enhanced electrical and mechanical properties. These nanocomposites properties promote electron transfer between electroactive species and electrode surface with good chemical stability, high surface area, and excellent electronic properties. Finally, we discuss a series of considerations that should be addressed in order to bring the realization of nanoplasmonic sensor with competitive levels of sensitivity, robustness, and integration much closer to reality.
