dc.description.abstractNo limiar do século XXI o temário do patrimônio cultural alcança proporções e forças de alterar profundamente a dinâmica de cidades, regiões e países. O ato de preservar a paisagem já é em si um dos mais poderosos mecanismos de transformação de uma realidade. Aliado a atividades produtivas e aos interesses de classe, ele é capaz de legitimar ideologias, interesses e ações que se desenvolvem materialmente no espaço geográfico. Partindo dessa conjectura, esta pesquisa analisou as transformações e os novos usos estabelecidos pelo Estado mediante a normatização do patrimônio histórico-cultural em Itu, no interior de São Paulo. Sendo constituída por uma literatura multidisciplinar, a pesquisa teve seu maior foco nas observações em campo, entrevistas qualificadas, questionários aplicados e a análise de relatos, que juntos procuram subsidiar o conhecimento das múltiplas contradições geradas a partir das transformações urbanas. Constatou-se generalizadamente que o relacionamento da população com sua cidade é precário, se realizando a partir de sociabilidades segmentadas a espaços de consumo, junto a seus semelhantes. Evidenciando que mesmo com as possibilidades trazidas pela questão patrimonial, é imperativa a indiferença com o tema. Seja por seu caráter repressor ao legitimar as hegemonias, seja pelo desconhecimento histórico ligado a baixos níveis de qualidade na educação, esta se torna mais uma variável complicadora nos processos de construção de uma cidade mais justa socialmente, calcada em valores para além dos interesses do capitalpt
dc.description.abstractIn the beginning of the 21st century, the themes of the cultural heritage reach proportion and strength to deeply change the dynamics of cities, regions and countries. Preserving the landscape is one of the most powerful transformation mechanisms of a reality. Together with productive activities and the interest of classes, it is capable of legitimating ideologies, interests and actions that are materially developed in the geographic space. This research has, from the exposed conjuncture, analyzed the transformations and the new use established by the nation by standardizing the historic-cultural heritage in Itu, state of São Paulo. Using a multidisciplinary literature, the research mostly focused in field observations, qualified interviews, applied questionnaires and reports analyses that together aimed to subsidize the knowledge of the multiple contradictions generated from the urban interventions. It was possible to find that generally the relationship between the population and its city is precarious, being done through segmented sociality at consumption place, together with their similar. It was also possible to point that even with the possibilities brought by the cultural heritage issue, the indifference with the subject is imperative. Either for its repressor character to legitimize the hegemonies, or for the lack of historical knowledge due to the low level of the education quality, this is one more complicating variable in the processes of the construction of a socially fairer city, based in values different than the capital interestsen
