In this work we apply the mercury porosimetry technique to determine the pore size distribution in soybean seed coats of different varieties. The analyses show that the porosity of soybean seed coats is different when seeds of different genotypes are compared. This result points the possibility of using pore size distribution to varietal discrimination.en
