Como é bem conhecido, o eletromagnetismo é descrito por uma teoria de gauge para o grupo U(1). Considerando a gravitação como uma teoria de gauge para o grupo das translações, desenvolveremos neste trabalho uma versão teleparalela da teoria de Kaluza-Klein. Neste modelo, o espaço-tempo permanece com quatro dimensões, enquanto o espaço interno (fibra) passa a ter cinco dimensões. Obtemos dessa forma uma teoria de gauge translacional em cinco dimensões que unifica, no sentido de Kaluza-Klein, as interações gravitacional e eletromagnética
Abstract (english)
As is well known, the electromagnetic theory is described by a gauge theory for the Group U{1). By considering gravitation as a gauge theory for the translation group, we develop a teleparallel version of the Kaluza-Klein theory. According to this model, spacetime is always four-dimensional, but the internai space (fiber) turns out to be five-dimensional. We obtain in this way a translational five-dimensional gauge theory which unifies, in the sense of Kaluza-Klein, the gravitational and electromagnetic interactions
