Resumo
Media artifacts and gender regulation happens through different social investments such as media and cultural artefacts. The objective of this study was analyzing the covers of Marie Claire Magazine, trying to understand how women are represented, also how the themes are viewed in such publications. With this objective, we performed a content analysis on the covers published in 2019 and 2020. We realized that although the magazine purpose is meant for all women, only some of them were shown on the covers: the ones that matched the current beauty standard. Now, the announced articles were mostly about the excessive concern with the physical appearance and life path of celebrities. So, we consider important the visibility of feminist counter hegemonic mediatic narratives to overturn the rules that really restrain the women.
