Abstract
The rescue of images and memories that make up the history of Campos de Jordao, through the Jordanians, places its population as protagonists in the city's history. This memory contributes to cultural understanding and regional historical development. The photographs help to revive the visual memory of the city, as the photographic images bring memories with exquisite detail to the minds of those who experienced the moments immortalized by them. In this way, the images contribute to the description, socialization and transfer of stories to future generations. Besides being a very useful source of information in the construction and reconstruction of historical facts, it enables successive reinterpretations of passaging time in the lives of individuals and societies. It structured the theoretical and methodological foundation of this work on the concepts of collective, historical and cultural memory, aiming to reconstruct Campos do Jordao's past.
