Metodologias para o ensino de inglês na educação básica: uma revisão bibliográfica

Abstract

O presente Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso investiga a relação que ocorre entre ensino e aprendizagem na escola pública, com a observação do ensino de língua inglesa através dos diferentes métodos históricos aos quais o ensino foi submetido. O trabalho analisa diferentes métodos a partir de análise bibliográfica, com o intuito de trazer uma luz qualitativa à dúvida de qual método é mais eficaz no ensino da língua inglesa. Busca-se a princípio compreender a perspectiva psicológica e psicopedagoga do desenvolvimento infantil; então, as determinações legais sobre ensino de língua estrangeira; daí as abordagens pedagógicas de ensino de língua inglesa existentes entre as clássicas até as atuais; por fim, uma análise histórica e bibliográfica acerca a realidade escolar e o ensino de inglês na escola pública. A presente pesquisa procura achar um norte para o ensino dessa disciplina e um indicativo de qual método seja o mais funcional para o fim aqui estudado. A pesquisa esbarra na falta de investimento latejante da escola brasileira e na defasagem que a separa do ideal pedagógico da práxis escolar, o que acaba por revelar um fenômeno regressivo do ensino, alicerçado na atualidade por métodos já muito desacreditados. A presente pesquisa revela informações que proveem bom assunto a pesquisas futuras.

This undergraduate thesis investigates the relationship between teaching and learning in public schools, observing the teaching of English through the different historical methods to which teaching has been presented. The work analyzes different methods based on bibliographic analysis, aiming to shed qualitative light on the question of which method is most effective in teaching English. It seeks to understand the psychological and psychopedagogical perspective of child development; then, the legal regulations on foreign language teaching in Brazil; then, the existing pedagogical approaches to English language teaching, from the classic to the current; finally, a historical and bibliographical analysis of the school reality and the teaching of English in public schools. This research seeks to find a direction for the teaching of this subject and an indication of which method is most functional for the purpose addressed here. The research encounters the lack of investment in Brazilian schools and the gap that separates them from the pedagogical ideal of school practice, which ultimately reveals a regressive characteristic of teaching, currently based on methods that are already largely discredited. This research reveals information that provides a good topic for future research.
