Entre tramas e táticas: autoria, resistência e mercado na arte brasileira

Abstract

Esta investigação surge de um pessimismo, um cansaço extremo do campo artístico que, atualmente, se produz e apodrece nas lógicas de consumo. Investiga-se o que é o criar sob o regime da previsibilidade, onde tudo que se faz já parece ter existido; onde a vontade de ruptura com o ciclo venenoso já parece ter sido previsto e capturado — transformado exatamente naquilo que se consome. A sensação de que o âmbito da criação já está saturado vem com a crise da noção de autoria, tema que costura esta tese e que é abordado por tantos pensadores numa metalinguagem: autores falando sobre autoria — que é o que exatamente se tenta fazer, operando em contradições. A figura do autor é ressuscitada, rendendo nova vida: a do autor-performance, do autor-curador-de-si, do autor-marca, do autor-fetiche. Adentra-se, então, o campo do fetichismo de mercado e suas especificidades no campo artístico brasileiro contemporâneo.

This research stems from pessimism, an extreme weariness with the artistic field, which currently produces and decays within the logic of consumption. It investigates what it means to create under a regime of predictability, where everything that is done already seems to have existed; where the desire to break with the poisonous cycle already seems to have been predicted and captured—transformed into exactly what is consumed. The feeling that the realm of creation is already saturated comes with the crisis of the notion of authorship, a theme that weaves through this thesis and is addressed by so many thinkers in a metalanguage: authors talking about authorship — which is exactly what one tries to do, operating in contradictions. The figure of the author is resurrected, yielding new life: that of the author-performer, the author-curator-of-self, the author-brand, the author-fetish. We then enter the field of market fetishism and its specificities in the contemporary Brazilian artistic field.
