Terminografia do Corpus platonicum: um léxico dos inteligíveis

Abstract

Esta dissertação de mestrado tem por objetivo a) analisar e descrever a estrutura conceitual depreendida pelos termos forma (εἶδος), idéia (ἰδέα) e inteligível (νοητός), no diálogo Sofista; e b) produzir um léxico piloto desses conceitos. Trata-se de uma pesquisa terminológica que assume a Teoria Comunicativa da Terminologia (TCT), de viés descritivo, como referencial básico. Essa teoria compreende os termos como unidades poliédricas dotadas de dimensões comunicativas, semióticas, linguísticas e cognitivas. Segundo essa teoria, seria necessário articular também teorias e métodos de uma dessas áreas. Por isso, foi escolhido nessa pesquisa uma perspectiva semântico-lexical com base na Abordagem Contextual. Com essas bases, foi possível identificar duas grandes estruturas conceituais na obra: a da arte (τέχνη) e a da realidade (οὐσία). A primeira consiste em uma aparente hierarquia formada por divisões binárias, construída ao longo do diálogo para tentar descrever as práticas dos sofistas. Porém, ela possui duas subestruturas de natureza mais particular: a da arte separativa (διακριτική), que inclui as formas de purificação, em que é incluído o ensino; e a da vileza (κακία), que é autônoma às artes (τέχνη), mas análoga à separativa (διακριτική). Por fim, há também a estrutura da realidade (οὐσία), uma rede conceitual formada por relações de partilha (κοινωνία) entre conceitos que dependem uns dos outros. The objective of this master's dissertation is a) to analyse and describe the conceptual structure derived from the terms form (εἶδος), idea (ἰδέα) and intelligible (νοητός), in the Sophist dialogue; and b) to create a pilot lexicon of these concepts. This is a terminological research based on the Communicative Theory of Terminology, that understands terms as polyhedral units endowed with communicative, semiotic, linguistic and cognitive dimensions. According to this theory, it would be necessary to also articulate theories and methods from one or more of these areas. Therefore, the Lexical Semantics perspective assumed is the Contextual Approach. With these bases, it was possible to identify two major structures conceived in the work: the one of the arts (τέχνη) and of the reality (οὐσία). The first consists of an apparent hierarchy formed by binary divisions, built throughout the dialogue to uncover the practices of the sophist. However, it has two substructures of a more particular nature: the one of separative art (διακριτική), which includes forms of purification, such as teaching; and the substructure of evils (κακία), which is autonomous from the arts (τέχνη), but analogous to separative (διακριτική). Finally, there is also the structure of reality (οὐσία), a conceptual network formed by relationships of sharing (κοινωνία) between concepts that presupposes one another.
