Apague as pegadas: uma leitura de Terra sonâmbula de Mia Couto

Abstract

O presente estudo apresenta o romance Terra sonâmbula de Mia Couto dentro do conceito de narrativa de resistência definido por Alfredo Bosi (1977). A tensão entre tradição e modernidade, memória e esquecimento, confundem-se no romance com a ideia de morte da tradição, porém, neste trabalho, mostramos que a morte é a continuidade e não o fim da tradição no mundo moderno. Como percurso teórico, contextualizamos os eventos históricos citados no romance com o auxílio, sobretudo, dos historiadores Allen e Barbara Isaacman (1983) e José Capela (2010). A tensão tradição X modernidade em todo o romance foi descrita com o apoio de estudiodos do romance aqui estudado, Anita Martins Rodrigues de Moraes (2018), Everton Fernando Micheletti (2016), Philip Rothwell (2015), Fábio Salem Daie (2013) e Kamila Krakowska (2017). O conceito de memória coletiva e de morte da experiência compartilhável e, consequentemente, da tradição moçambicana foram discutidos a partir das ideias de Maurice Halbwachs (1990) e de Walter Benjamin nos artigos “O contador de histórias” (2015) e “Experiência e pobreza” (2012).

The present study presents the novel Sleepwalking land (Terra sonâmbula) by Mia Couto within the concept of resistance narrative defined by Alfredo Bosi (1977). The tension between tradition and modernity, memory and forgetfulness, are confused in the novel with the idea of the death of tradition, however, in this work, we show that death is the continuity and not the end of tradition in the modern world. As a theoretical path, we contextualize the historical events mentioned in the novel with the assistance, above all, of the historians Allen and Barbara Isaacman (1983) and José Capela (2010). The tension between tradition and modernity throughout the novel was described with the support of studios of the novel studied here, Anita Martins Rodrigues de Moraes (2018), Everton Fernando Micheletti (2016), Philip Rothwell (2015), Fábio Salem Daie (2013) and Kamila Krakowska (2017). The concept of collective memory and death of the shareable experience and, consequently, of the Mozambican tradition were discussed based on the ideas of Maurice Halbwachs (1990) and Walter Benjamin in the articles “The storyteller” (2015) and “Experience and poverty ”(2012).
