Abstract
This article analyze the relations between Argentina and Paraguay in the period 1965 and 1973, when both countries lived an impasse about on the free navigation of Paraguayan vessels in Argentine territory, by means of Brazilian diplomatic documents, and the process of negotiation between both countries for the signature of the Treaty of Yacyreta that formalized the construction of the hydroelectric plant that is one of the main elements of integration between the two countries and which is directly linked to the international dynamics of contemporary Latin America.
