This research aims to investigate who Glaucia Amaral, curator and textile artist, was and what were her role and influence in the field of Cultural Mediation and Art/Education, using the exhibition Fantasia Brasileira: O Ballet do IV Centenário as a case study. The exhibition took place in 1998, inaugurating the Sesc Belenzinho, and combined dance, music, and audiovisual elements to celebrate the pioneering experience of the Ballet do IV Centenário, formed to integrate the festivities of São Paulo's 400th anniversary in 1954. Glaucia's exhibitions are frequently cited by Art/Education theorists, such as Ana Mae Barbosa, as influential in the formation of the field of Cultural Mediation; however, information about her is sparse and difficult to locate. We can relate this to a systematic erasure of the work produced by women in the history of art and education. Starting from the unease caused by this erasure and using Glaucia Amaral's personal documentary collection, as well as the collections of the São Paulo Cultural Center and the Sesc São Paulo Research and Training Center, we present here a selection of the productions that shaped her curatorial and educational perspective, as well as an analysis of the educational action of the "Fantasia Brasileira" exhibition, intending to fill some gaps and record a historiographical fragment of cultural mediation in Brazil.
