Resumo
The relationship between the dynamics of production and consumption of housing (in its absolute, relative and relational dimensions) and urban mobility is studied by analyzing the city of Ribeir & atilde;o Preto- SP, in Brazil, considering the production of its urban space embodied by different types of urban habitat and, with regard to mobility, the ways in which people move in their daily lives. The historical production of the city and housing represent, in the case of this city, the Brazilian urbanization in intermediate cities. In terms of methodological procedures, in addition to specific databases and cartography, the main source of information was interviews with city dwellers, interpreted from the distinct and differentiating locations of housing typologies implemented in the city over the last sixty years, which segment it into a grid area to the north, where the lower income segments are concentrated, and to the south, those with high incomes.
