A organização retórica da sessão oral de teletandem inicial: a influência do e-mail de apresentação

Abstract

A presente pesquisa ocupa-se do teletandem institucional integrado (TTDii) (Aranha e Cavalari, 2014), com ênfase na sessão oral de teletandem inicial (SOTi), definida como o primeiro contato síncrono entre os participantes e reconhecida como um gênero do sistema de gêneros do TTDii (Aranha, 2014; Rampazzo, 2017; 2021), cujo propósito comunicativo consiste em possibilitar que os estudantes se conheçam, troquem informações e cooperem com seus parceiros durante a prática do TTDii (Rampazzo, 2021). Parte-se da pesquisa de Rampazzo (2021), que constatou que a SOTi, em cenários de aprendizagem que incluem a tarefa prévia de e-mail de apresentação, apresenta a ocorrência da ação de discussão sobre texto, bem como da hipótese de que algumas ações retóricas tendem a se materializar de maneira distinta quando há o cumprimento dessa tarefa. O objetivo geral desta pesquisa consiste em analisar a organização retórica de SOTis em um cenário de aprendizagem que inclui a tarefa inicial e-mail de apresentação, a fim de examinar de que modo essa tarefa contribui para a realização dos propósitos comunicativos da SOTi. Especificamente, busca-se ampliar a pesquisa de Rampazzo (2021), investigando de que modo o cumprimento da tarefa influencia a ocorrência e a materialização das ações retóricas. Para tanto, foram selecionadas cinco gravações de SOTis e suas respectivas transcrições, bem como dez e-mails de apresentação trocados entre os pares, disponíveis no MulTeC (Multimodal Teletandem Corpus) (Aranha e Lopes, 2019). A análise baseou-se na identificação das ações retóricas nas SOTis (Rampazzo, 2021) e na relação dessas ações com a leitura e a revisão dos e-mails pelos participantes. Os resultados evidenciam que a organização retórica da SOTi deste corpus assemelha-se à estrutura prototípica descrita por Rampazzo (2021); no entanto, a retomada dos e-mails na SOTi influencia a materialização de ações como negociação e troca de informações, bem como a presença ou ausência da ação de apresentação. Ademais, a retomada e a ampliação das informações previamente compartilhadas nos e-mails, durante a SOTi, favorecem a interação entre os pares, contribuindo para a realização dos propósitos comunicativos da SOTi.

This study is about the Institutional Integrated Teletandem (TTDii) (Aranha and Cavalari, 2014), with emphasis on the Initial Oral Teletandem Session (iTOS), defined as the first synchronous interaction between participants and recognized as a genre within the TTDii genre system (Aranha, 2014; Rampazzo, 2017; 2021), whose communicative purpose is to enable students to get to know each other, exchange information, and collaborate with their partners throughout the teletandem practice (Rampazzo, 2021). This research’s based on Rampazzo (2021), who found that in learning scenarios including the introductory email task, that iTOS presents the occurrence of the rhetorical action of text discussion, as well as on the hypothesis that certain rhetorical actions tend to materialize differently when this task is carried out. The main objective is to analyze the rhetorical organization of iTOS in a learning scenario that includes an initial introductory email task, in order to examine how this task contributes to the achievement of the communicative purposes of iTOS. Specifically, the study seeks to expand Rampazzo’s (2021) research by investigating how the accomplishment of this task influences the occurrence and realization of rhetorical actions. The corpus consists of five iTOS recordings and their respective transcripts, as well as ten introductory emails exchanged between partners, available in the Multimodal Teletandem Corpus (MulTeC) (Aranha and Lopes, 2019). The analysis is based on the identification of rhetorical actions in the iTOS and on the relationship between these actions and the participants’ reading and revision of the emails. The results show that the rhetorical organization of iTOS in this corpus resembles the prototypical structure described by Rampazzo (2021); however, the resumption of emails during SOTi influences the realization of actions such as negotiation and information exchange, as well as the presence or absence of the presentation action. Furthermore, the resumption and expansion of information previously shared in the emails during SOTi foster interaction between participants, contributing to the achievement of the communicative purposes of the session.
