Abstract
Abstract (english)
Advances in veterinary Science have extended the lifespan of dogs Leading to na increase incidence of age-related alterations. Aging in dogs in a complex that affects multiple body systems, resulting in significant physiological changes. This study investigates hematological and biochemical alterations in clinically healthy elderly dogs, aiming to provide insights for appropriate veterinary management. Analysis of various studies reveals trends such as increased leves of hepatic enzymes including Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) and Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase (GGT) with age, while other parameters, such as albumin, tend to decrease. Altough often associated with agins, these changes suggest underlying conditions that require veterinary attention. Understandind these alterations is essential for improving the quality of life in elderly dogs and for developing more effective treatment strategies.
