Abstract
This article follows the expectations regarding the launch of Revista da Semana and its first year of circulation. The magazine is always mentioned in Brazilian historiography, car it was the first to systematically print photography. The weekly, which changed hands a few months after the launch, invites us to follow the experiments and uncertainties that surrounded the beginnings of the insertion of the photographic material in its pages.
