As vozes sociais em Downton Abbey: um olhar sobre as mobilizações espaço-temporais

Abstract

Esta pesquisa se volta ao estudo do enunciado Downton Abbey e tem como objetivo compreender a construção das vozes sociais que fazem parte da construção desse enunciado estético. A fundamentação teórica do trabalho está calcada na filosofia da linguagem do Círculo de Bakhtin, Medviédev, Volóchinov. As concepções de enunciado, cronotopo, ideologia, sujeito e vozes sociais são o aporte teórico que embasa as reflexões e o estudo da construção do discurso estético do corpus pesquisado. O trabalho ao investigar as vozes sociais e as relações de alteridade presentes no discurso visa contribuir com os estudos da linguagem e com as reflexões acerca da construção das vozes sociais e das hierarquias no ambiente de trabalho doméstico apresentado no enunciado. O trabalho busca investigar como se dá a construção e o embate de vozes sociais de diferentes grupos a partir das movimentações sociais, espaciais e temporais dos sujeitos no seriado. Para tanto, os sujeitos analisados na obra são: Tom Branson (o motorista); Charles Carson (o mordomo); Daisy Robinson (a ajudante da cozinheira); Sybil Crawley (a filha mais nova); Robert Crawley (o conde de Grantham); e Mary Crawley (a filha mais velha). Os sujeitos foram delimitados levando-se em consideração a posição social que eles ocupam no seriado, a sua classe e as suas movimentações no espaço. Dessa forma, o recorte possibilita a observação das peculiaridades em torno da construção das vozes sociais no enunciado. Por meio da realização do estudo, pelo viés da dialogicidade da linguagem, é possível refletir sobre as vozes e a sua construção no enunciado estético. O estudo desenvolvido no presente trabalho evidencia a existência de uma voz de dominação que se sobrepõe hierarquicamente sobre as outras vozes sociais tendo em vista a mobilização espaço-temporal dos sujeitos e as relações entre os grupos sociais construídas na concretude do enunciado.

This research focuses on the study of the utterance Downton Abbey and aims to reflect on the construction of social voices that are part of the construction of this aesthetic utterance. The theoretical foundation of the work is based on the language philosophy of the Circle of Bakhtin, Medvedev, Volochinov. The concepts of utterance, ideology, subject and social voices are the theoretical that supports the reflections and the study about the construction of the aesthetic discourse of the researched corpus. The work by investigating social voices and alterity relations present in the discourse aims to contribute to language studies and to reflections on the construction of social voices and hierarchies in the domestic work environment presented in the utterance. The work seeks to investigate how the construction of social voices from different groups takes place from the social, spatial, and temporal movements of the subjects in the series. The subjects analyzed in the work are Tom Branson (the chauffeur); Charles Carson (the butler); Daisy Robinson (the cook's assistant); Sybil Crawley (the youngest daughter); Robert Crawley (the earl of Grantham); and Mary Crawley (the eldest daughter). The subjects were delimited considering the social position that they occupy in the series, their class, and their movements in the space. In this way, the delimitation makes it possible to observe the peculiarities surrounding the construction of social voices in the utterance. Through the development of the study, by the dialogicity of language, it is possible to reflect on the voices and their construction in the aesthetic utterance. The study developed in this work evidences the existence of a voice of domination that hierarchically superimposes itself on the other social voices in view of the space-time mobilization of the subjects and the relations between the social groups built in the utterance
