A trajetória do professor Irineu Bicudo na Matemática, na Educação Matemática e na História da Matemática brasileira: um olhar a partir de um estudo hermenêutico

Abstract

É importante, em Programas de Pesquisa em Educação do Brasil e de outros países, a investigação sobre a vida e obra de pesquisadores que foram influentes do ponto de vista de sua produção científica e do impacto de sua obra no meio social. Assim, consideramos coerente investigar tais fatos sobre o Professor Irineu Bicudo, devido às suas imensas contribuições, tanto na Produção Científica, bem como na formação de futuros Pesquisadores e educadores na área da matemática, não só no estado de São Paulo, mas em todo o Brasil. Podemos enunciar o problema dessa pesquisa com a seguinte pergunta: “Quais as contribuições da vida e da obra de Irineu Bicudo ao campo da pesquisa e do ensino da Matemática, da Educação Matemática e da História da Matemática no Brasil?” A pesquisa a ser desenvolvida será de caráter qualitativo, documental (através da seleção e leitura dos manuscritos de sua produção) mais, especificamente, um estudo de caso, com abordagem teórica bibliográfica, histórica documental e, por ser uma história de vida, utilizaremos como fundamentação teórica a teoria hermenêutica associada ao conceito de fontes históricas (documentos históricos, fotografias, etc.).

It is important, in Education Research Programs in Brazil and other countries, to investigate the lives and work of researchers who were influential from the point of view of their scientific production and the impact of their work on the social environment. Therefore, we consider it coherent to investigate these facts about Professor Irineu Bicudo, due to his immense contributions, both in Scientific Production, as well as in the training of future Researchers and educators in the area of mathematics, not only in the state of São Paulo, but throughout Brazil. We can state the problem of this research with the following question: “What are the contributions of Irineu Bicudo’s life and work to the field of research and teaching of Mathematics, Mathematics Education and the History of Mathematics in Brazil?” The research to be developed will be of a qualitative, documentary nature (through the selection and reading of the manuscripts of its production) more specifically, a case study, with a theoretical bibliographic approach, documentary history and, as it is a life story, we will use it as theoretical foundation the hermeneutic theory associated with the concept of historical sources (historical documents, photographs, etc.).
