A personagem feminina em quatro contos de A noite escura e mais eu, de Lygia Fagundes Telles

Esta dissertação tem como objetivo analisar os contos “Dolly”, “Você não acha que esfriou?”, “Boa noite, Maria” e “Uma branca sombra pálida”, de Lygia Fagundes Telles, presentes na obra A Noite Escura e Mais Eu (2009). Propõe-se a explicar a vida e as obras da autora, bem como contextualizar os conceitos de literatura, conto e a categoria mulher. Em seguida, o trabalho visa repensar os textos literários em questão desenvolvendo a hipótese de que a construção dos temas de cada conto relaciona-se com o desenvolvimento das personagens femininas protagonistas, na medida em que elas estão inseridas em contextos nos quais enfrentam problemáticas relacionadas ao fato de serem mulheres, conectando-as e fazendo com que as narrativas perpassem, ao mesmo tempo, a ficção e algumas das questões relacionadas ao gênero das personagens a partir dos problemas e questionamentos apontados por Simone de Beauvoir em O segundo sexo: Fatos e mitos (2016), discutindo, a partir dessa perspectiva, se as personagens femininas são capazes ou não de superar a condição imposta pelas normas sociais para mulheres.

Abstract (english)

This work aims at analyzing the short stories “Dolly’, “Você não acha que esfriou?”, “Boa noite, Maria”, and “Uma branca sombra pálida”, by Lygia Fagundes Telles, found in the book A Noite Escura e Mais Eu (1995). To begin, there will be an explanation about the life and the books from this author, also giving context to the concepts of literature, short tales and woman as a category that will be used in the analysis. The proposal here is to rethink those literary texts evolving the hypothesis that the constructions of the themes on each short tale are related to the development of the female protagonists that are inserted in contexts in which they have to confront problems created from the fact that they are women, which connects them and make the narrative deal with fiction and gender problems at the same time by using the problems and questions from Simone de Beauvoir’s O Segundo sexo: Fatos e mitos (2016), also discussing, from this perspective, if the female characters are or ar not capable of overcoming the conditions that are imposed by social rules for women.
