dc.description.abstractConfirming that, historically, the black population is present in larger proportions in seg-regated and stigmatized territories of several Brazilian cities, the objective of this article is to promote a discussion about the processes of urban segregation with race as the analytical category. In order to approach this problem, a critical analysis of the studies that propitiated the debate through different theoretical and methodological references was undertaken.en
