Abstract

Building on some issues of the magazine cover calls Superinteressante published in recent years, this paper proposes a reflection on the imaginary built on the creation of a new human search expression of an ideal of bodily perfection and potentially created through the resources of technoscience, presented by the magazine as part of a historical inevitability. Therefore, we seek to trace some historical and philosophical milestones that led to the construction of the imaginary of techno-science-recurrently released by the magazine in focus-such as the origin of belief in science as a source of truth and its relation to the industrial imagery in the nineteenth century, beyond the hegemony of cybernetics in contemporary times and their placement in the service of the search for a body not only healthy and beautiful, but above all efficient and, if not eternal, at least durable
