Abstract (portuguese)
No Brasil a bovinocultura leiteira, principalmente em sistema intensivo de produção de leite, a presença de endo e ectoparasitas provocam grandes perdas econômicas. Os parasitas têm grande influência na mortalidade e na eficiência produtiva do rebanho leiteiro e os animais infectados mesmo quando não apresentam a sintomatologia clínica da doença deixa de produzir consideravelmente, afetando negativamente o sistema de produção. Com manejo adequado, integrando parasito-bovino-ambiente, as parasitoses podem ser mantidas em níveis compatíveis com a produtividade do rebanho. Assim, no combate às parasitoses devem ser utilizados conhecimentos sobre a biologia do parasita relacionando-os ao comportamento do bovino e às épocas ideais de combate, reduzindo-se ao máximo a utilização de produtos químicos que podem acarretar, além do fenômeno da resistência, poluição do meio ambiente.
Abstract (english)
In Brazil, dairy cattle farming, mainly in an intensive milk production
system, the presence of endo and ectoparasites cause great economic losses.
The parasites have a great influence on the mortality and productive efficiency
of the dairy herd, and the infected animals, even when they do not present the
clinical symptoms of the disease, stop producing considerably, negatively
affecting the production system. With proper management, integrating parasitecattle-environment, the parasites can be maintained at levels compatible with
the productivity of the herd. Thus, in the fight against parasites, knowledge
about the biology of the parasite must be used, relating them to the behavior of
the cattle and the ideal times of combat, reducing the use of products as much
as possible chemicals that can cause, in addition to the phenomenon of
resistance, environmental pollution.
