Games and social and moral values: possibility of prevention on social networks

Abstract

The convergence of information technology, electronics and information systems has provided a revolution in the media. Although they have an important role in the structuring of social relations, digital interactions are not always synonymous with security, since the reports of risks and problems related to the use of social networks are becoming frequent (invasion of privacy, lack of security, sexting, bullying, and cyberbullying). This article aims to reflect on the possibility of using electronic games in education in social and moral values aimed at preventing risky behaviors related to the use of social networks. Games can anticipate risky situations that users may face, especially those that are mediated by new technologies such as social networking sites. It is hoped that education in social and moral values can become crucial in the protection against risks related to the use of social networks.
