Abstração e contemporaneide vestígios da visualidade urbana na linguagem artística : influências do olhar urbano no código artístico contemporâneo, ação e representação

Abstract

Na complexa tentativa de se comunicar, o artista sai em busca de inspiração, tateando horizontes à procura de imagens interessantes para o seu trabalho. Essa procura estimula os sentimentos mais profundos e inconscientes da memória, na direção do ato de dar existência a algo que fale de si e do mundo, numa produção que possui a qualidade de ser única, exclusiva. Os modernistas foram os primeiros a se lançar rumo ao desconhecido, na pesquisa de novas linguagens artísticas, atuais e condizentes com os novos paradigmas que a vida impingia. De Paul Cézanne à Escola de Nova York, a abstração encontrou um terreno cada vez mais fértil. No Brasil, movimento semelhante aconteceu. Artistas comprometidos com o desenvolvimento de trabalhos significativos promoveram grandes mudanças. Instalou-se a contemporaneidade e sua conseqüente liberdade: ideológica, temática e técnica. A autora baseia sua produção artística na abstração informal da linhagem do Expressionismo Abstrato para o desenvolvimento de seu material expressivo, seja pintura, desenho ou fotografia. Discute suas obras e as relaciona com as de artistas contemporâneos de características afins, traçando paralelos e analogias. Coloca em discussão o quanto de influência recebeu do meio em que vive, a cidade de São Paulo, e de que forma foram introduzidas em seus trabalhos as mensagens visuais urbanas captadas pelo olhar. Silencioso o processo criativo contém uma infinidade de passos que o artista ansioso faz rumo ao acerto. In their complex attempt to communicate, artists gain the world in their search for inspiration, groping horizons looking for interesting images for their work. This search stimulates the more profund and unconscious reminiscences, which are awakened in order to give existence to something that speaks about the artists and the world, towards the making of a single and exclusive piece of art. The Moderns were the first to launch themselves into the unknow, developing newer artistic languages which were considered more suitable for the new paradigms of life. From Paul Cézanne to the School of New York, the abstraction found a more and more fertile ground. The same trend found place in Brazil: throughout the 20th Century, many Brazilian artists compromised with the development of a significant work promoted great changes in the national art landscape. The consequence of contemporaneity was an ideological, thematic and technical freedom. The author of this thesis has grounded her artistic creation (painting, drawing and photography) on the patterns of the informal abstraction developed by the Abstract Expressionism. Here, she analyzes her works in contrast with the works of other contemporaneous artists who have adopted similar artistic styles, tracing analogies and parallels. She also discusses how the influence exerted by the environment where she lives, the city of São Paulo, Brazil, in the form of its urban visual messages catched by the eye, was incorporated to her artistic production. The creative process, which is silent, implies an infinity of steps that the anxious artist take towards the best. The text that follows tells about the intentions and the steps of an artist, the procedures she adopts and her yearnings about the free exercice of making art.
