A pesquisa tematiza o contato e as experiências dos bebês com a leitura no contexto das creches. Quando os bebês e crianças pequenas são expostas a ambientes em que a leitura está presente, elas desenvolvem o hábito de ler e se tornam leitoras. As educadoras têm um papel essencial na formação desses futuros leitores. A leitura desde os primeiros anos, contribui para o desenvolvimento cognitivo, linguístico e integral dos bebês. Com isso, este projeto tem como objetivo compreender as práticas pedagógicas no contexto das creches que favorecem o encontro dos bebês com os livros e suas contribuições para a formação dos mesmos. A pesquisa em questão é de cunho qualitativo e foi realizada através de um levantamento bibliográfico, com a intenção de analisar as contribuições das práticas de leitura com os bebês nas creches. Para isso, foi utilizada a Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações, fazendo uma busca por títulos que trouxessem informações referentes à temática abordada: A leitura e os bebês, com os descritores “Creche and Leitura” e “Berçário and Leitura". Devido à escassez de estudos sobre a temática, esta pesquisa foi realizada sem definição de período. Sendo assim, esse trabalho buscou abordar sobre a leitura e os bebês, como envolvê-los ao longo dessa prática, para que interajam entre si, com a professora, e com os livros, se fazendo essencial reconhecer a importância da leitura, as suas práticas institucionais, e as contribuições para os bebês. Com base nas análises realizadas, percebe-se que as práticas de leitura nas instituições de Educação Infantil, ainda enfrentam desafios significativos em função de certas limitações como: a restrição do acesso dos bebês aos livros, a
descontinuidade das práticas de leitura, a sobrecarga docente, e falta de espaços apropriados e aconchegantes para esse momento. Porém, também apresentam potenciais que merecem ser valorizados e fortalecidos como: a presença de projetos de incentivo à leitura, a criação de bebetecas e outros espaços de leitura, o uso de estratégias diversificadas de mediação, e a participação ativa das famílias.

The research focuses on the contact and experiences of babies with reading in the context of daycare centers. When babies and young children are exposed to environments where reading is present, they develop the habit of reading and become readers. Educators play an essential role in the formation of these future readers. Reading from the earliest years contributes to the cognitive, linguistic, and overall development of babies. Therefore, this project aims to understand the pedagogical practices in daycare centers that promote babies’ encounters with books and their contributions to their formation. This research is qualitative in nature and was carried out through a bibliographic review, with the intention of analyzing the contributions of reading practices with babies in daycare centers. For this purpose, the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations was used, searching for titles that provided information related to the theme under study: Reading and Babies, with the descriptors “Creche and Reading” and “Nursery and Reading.” Due to the scarcity of studies on this topic, this research was conducted without a defined time frame.Thus, this study sought to address reading and babies, exploring how to involve them throughout this practice so that they interact with one another, with the teacher, and with books. It is therefore essential to recognize the importance of reading, its institutional practices, and its contributions to babies. Based on the analyses carried out, it is evident that reading practices in Early Childhood Education institutions still face significant challenges due to certain limitations such as restricted access to books, discontinuity of reading practices, teacher overload, and the lack of appropriate and welcoming spaces for this activity. However, they also present potentials that deserve to be valued and strengthened, such as the presence of reading incentive projects, the creation of “baby libraries” and other reading spaces, the use of diverse mediation strategies, and the active participation of families.
