Panorama histórico coral de três igrejas batistas da cidade de São Paulo no período de 1980 a 2020

Nas últimas décadas na cidade de São Paulo, algumas das principais igrejas batistas têm desenvolvido atividades musicais de ensino e performance, e muitos de seus integrantes passaram a atuar também em ambientes artísticos da cidade em um interessante processo de interação. Buscamos traçar um panorama histórico coral de três igrejas batistas da cidade de São Paulo delimitando o período do ano de 1980 até o ano de 2020, a fim de verificar a reverberação que tal atividade trouxe ao cenário musical paulistano. Para tanto, foi necessário verificar como se deu a chegada, formação e estruturação dessas igrejas na cidade de São Paulo; averiguar se existe nesses ambientes o pensamento de educação musical e a formação de coros graduados; analisar o repertório desenvolvido pelos coros e grupos vocais no período pesquisado e entrevistar músicos provenientes destes ambientes eclesiásticos. Realizamos, então, uma pesquisa que abrange Revisão bibliográfica, Pesquisas em fontes primárias, Entrevistas estruturadas e semiestruturadas e Pesquisa prosopográfica.

Abstract (english)

In the last decades in the city of São Paulo, some of the main Baptist churches have developed musical teaching and performance activities, and many of their members have also started to work in artistic environments in the city in an interesting process of interaction. We seek to trace a choral historical panorama of three Baptist churches in the city of São Paulo, delimiting the period from 1980 to 2020, in order to verify the reverberation that such activity brought to the São Paulo music scene. Therefore, it was necessary to verify how these churches arrived, formed and structured in the city of São Paulo; to find out if there is in these environments the thought of music education and the formation of graduated choirs; analyze the repertoire developed by choirs and vocal groups in the researched period and interview musicians from these ecclesiastical environments. We then carried out a research that covers Bibliographic review, research in primary sources, structured and semi-structured interviews and prosopographic research.
