O presente trabalho pretende expor e explicar a formação da aceleração social e tecnológica na
modernidade tardia e as diferentes abordagens científicas sobre os efeitos negativos da hipertrofia da
técnica a partir da sociologia de Hartmut Rosa, da psicologia social de Jean Marie Twenge e da
neurociência de Manfred Spitzer. Para elaborar um estudo teórico e interdisciplinar sobre os efeitos
negativos da aceleração tecnológica, utilizamos a metodologia da sociologia comparativa e
compreensiva com o propósito de nos auxiliar a articular os diagnósticos científicos de três áreas do
conhecimento: a sociologia, a psicologia e a neurociência. Por fim, foi possível apreender que as
revoluções tecnológicas e digitais da passagem do século XX ao século XXI e a consequente formação
da digitalização do mundo são produtos das revoluções políticas do neoliberalismo, gerando, por um
lado, uma crescente penetrabilidade das mídias digitais na vida humana, especialmente entre os jovens
inseridos na sociedade hiperconectada, e, por outro lado, a proliferação de efeitos indesejados,
patologias inauditas e distúrbios sociais, políticos, psicológicos e neurológicos.

This paper aims to expose and explain the formation of social and technological acceleration in late
modernity and the different scientific approaches on the negative effects of the hypertrophy of
technique based on Hartmut Rosa's sociology, Jean Marie Twenge's social psychology and Manfred
Spitzer's neuroscience. To elaborate a theoretical and interdisciplinary study about the negative effects
of technological acceleration, we used the methodology of comparative and comprehensive sociology
with the purpose of helping us articulate the scientific diagnoses of three areas of knowledge:
sociology, psychology, and neuroscience. Finally, it was possible to apprehend that the technological
and digital revolutions of the passage from the 20th to the 21st century and the consequent formation
of the digitalization of the world are products of the political revolutions of neoliberalism, generating,
on the one hand, an increasing penetrability of digital media in human life, especially among young
people inserted in the hyperconnected society, and, on the other hand, the proliferation of undesired
effects, unprecedented pathologies, and social, political, psychological, and neurological disturbances.
