O Prometeu moderno

Abstract

"O Prometeu Moderno" explora as intersecções entre arte, mitologia, criatividade, modernidade e existência, investigando a busca humana por significado e sentido. A partir do mito de Prometeu e do romance "Frankenstein ou O Prometeu Moderno" (1818) de Mary Shelley, analisamos como essas narrativas simbolizam a busca pelo conhecimento e pela criação, mas explorando uma nova figura: o jovem artista visual imerso em um mundo moderno, e usando a fotomontagem como sua expressão artística. Discutimos os desafios enfrentados no contexto acelerado e hiperconectado do período contemporâneo que vivemos, examinando formas de resistência, reinvenção e transformação. Ao integrar teoria e prática, o trabalho reflete sobre como os seres humanos ocupam sua realidade, preenchendo o vazio da existência através da arte, dos mitos e da criação.

"The Modern Prometheus" explores the intersections between art, mythology, creativity, modernity, and existence, investigating the human quest for meaning and purpose. Drawing from the myth of Prometheus and Mary Shelley's novel "Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus" (1818), we analyze how these narratives symbolize the pursuit of knowledge and creation, while exploring a new figure: the young visual artist immersed in a modern world, utilizing photomontage as their artistic expression. We discuss the challenges aced in the fast-paced and hyperconnected context of the contemporary era, examining forms of resistance, reinvention, and transformation. By integrating theory and practice, the work reflects on how human beings occupy their reality, filling the void of existence through art, myths, and creation.
