Resumo

3D printing has emerged as a promising tool in the development of assistive technologies and rehabilitation solutions, enabling the customization of devices in an accessible and efficient manner. This study reviews applications of 3D printing in areas such as prosthetics, orthotics, functional mobility, and activities of daily living, discussing its potential benefits for users as well as the challenges associated with implementation in rehabilitation practice. In this context, the study highlights the role of interdisciplinarity, integrating knowledge from health, design, and technology to foster collaboration between rehabilitation and educational institutions in the development of knowledge dissemination strategies and training for the use of these technologies. The importance of collaborative approaches involving user participation is also emphasized, ensuring that solutions are aligned with their needs, along with the need for training professionals to effectively incorporate these tools into clinical practice.
