This article analyzes the general guidelines of contemporary Brazilian foreign policy, as well as the country's stance regarding the BRICS. We argue that, as of 2023, with the return of Lula da Silva to the Presidency, the BRICS and advocating for multipolarity in the international system become relevant pillars for Brazil's international insertion. With the new government, Brazil's foreign policy's dimensions of autonomy and universalism become central once again, in a context where systemic and domestic constraints tend to give rise to new challenges. Some of which are in favor of these dimensions, such as the BRICS. On the other hand, others create difficulties, especially the worldwide advance of unilateralism at the strategic, economic and technological levels.en
