Teatro Experimental do Negro: memórias e caminhos pedagógicos para o teatro e arte educação antirracista

Abstract

O projeto propõe estudos sobre o Teatro Experimental do Negro - TEN, criado em 1944 e mantido até 1961 pelo coletivo teatral formado por artistas extremamente importantes para a cena teatral, social e cultural brasileira, dentre essas pessoas, nomes como Abdias do Nascimento, Maria de Lourdes Vale do Nascimento, Aguinaldo Camargo e Ironides Rodrigues protagonizaram a existência da iniciativa. A base do estudo divide-se entre três grandes pilares: (1) o entendimento histórico qualitativo de como o teatro e insituições educacionais recepcionava africanos e afrodescendentes na pré-criação do Teatro Experimental do Negro, (2) o seu surgimento e desenvolvimento, (3) além de suas heranças e frutos para a sociedade contra o racismo e as estruturas coloniais, mapeando a sua trajetória em nosso território. A pesquisa promove estudos práticos laboratoriais com jovens e adultos matriculados no CIEJA Ermelino Matarazzo para investigar, em conjunto, quais os impactos do racismo na sociedade e como as práticas do Teatro Experimental do Negro nos inspiram na compreensão do racismo estrutural brasileiro, além de ocupar um espaço de combustível para criação artística e teatral dentro da educação básica. A perspectiva do planejamento se baseia no ideal de sala de aula enquanto comunidade, com o intuito de fomentar o pensamento crítico e consciente sobre as bases que estruturam a sociedade atual e ressignificar tal problemática por caminhos artísticos, tal qual Abdias do Nascimento propôs em vida com o TEN, abrindo espaço para questionar por exemplo: Como se dão as aulas de arte a partir dos conhecimentos antirracistas levantados pelo Teatro Experimental do Negro? Em suma, Teatro Experimental do Negro: Memórias e caminhos pedagógicos para o teatro e arte educação antirracista, busca cruzar a história social e teatral dos séculos XIX e XX com as práticas de arte educação e letramento racial na contemporaneidade do século XXI, com o intuito de rememorar a importância do TEN, para construção de pensamentos mais equalitários.

The project proposes studies on the Teatro Experimental do Negro – TEN, created in 1944 and maintained until 1961 by a theatrical collective formed by artists who were extremely important to the Brazilian theatrical, social, and cultural scene. Among these individuals, names such as Abdias do Nascimento, Maria de Lourdes Vale do Nascimento, Aguinaldo Camargo, and Ironides Rodrigues played leading roles in the existence of the initiative. The foundation of the study is divided into three main pillars: (1) the qualitative historical understanding of how theater and education received Africans and Afro-descendants prior to the creation of the Teatro Experimental do Negro, (2) its emergence and development, and (3) its legacies and contributions to society in the fight against racism and colonial structures, mapping its trajectory within our territory. The research promotes practical laboratory-based studies with young people and adults enrolled at a CIEJA to investigate, collectively, the impacts of racism in society and how the practices of the Teatro Experimental do Negro inspire us in understanding Brazilian structural racism. Furthermore, it serves as a source of fuel for artistic and theatrical creation within basic education. The planning perspective is based on the ideal of the classroom as a community, aiming to foster critical and conscious thinking about the foundations that structure contemporary society and to reframe such issues through artistic paths, just as Abdias do Nascimento proposed in his lifetime with TEN. This also opens space to answer, for example: How are art classes conducted based on the anti-racist knowledge developed by the Teatro Experimental do Negro? In summary, Teatro Experimental do Negro: Memories and Pedagogical Pathways for Anti-Racist Theater and Arts Education seeks to cross the social and theatrical history of the 19th and 20th centuries with the practices of arts education and racial literacy in the 21st century, with the aim of recalling the importance of TEN in building more equitable ways of thinking
