Sistema Único de Saúde e a pandemia da Covid-19

Abstract

O tema sobre o Sistema Único de Saúde durante a pandemia da COVID-19 é relevante atualmente. Mesmo com a forte influência neoliberal sobre o SUS e suas diversas estratégias de favorecimento ao mercado privado, durante a pandemia pode-se afirmar a soberania do SUS e como ele atinge toda a população brasileira. A pandemia evidenciou a insustentabilidade de um sistema que cruelmente, junto a um desgoverno liderado por um presidente genocida, ceifou a vida de milhares de brasileiros. O estudo teve como objetivo refletir sobre a importância do SUS durante a pandemia da COVID-19 e os principais desafios enfrentados pelo sistema nesse contexto. Por meio da pesquisa qualitativa e histórica, através de estudo bibliográfico e documental que envolvem o SUS desde sua gênese até o período pandêmico com uma abordagem intersetorial envolvendo saúde e Serviço Social. Os resultados mostram a construção de um sistema de saúde mais justo e eficiente, público e universal, que sofre os impactos da precarização como política pública e atinge a população usuária dos serviços durante a pandemia.

The theme about the Unified Health System during the COVID-19 pandemic is currently relevant. Despite the strong neoliberal influence on SUS and its various strategies favoring the private market, the pandemic showcased the sovereignty of SUS and its impact on the entire Brazilian population. The pandemic revealed the unsustainability of a system that, together with a government led by a genocidal president, tragically claimed the lives of thousands of Brazilians. This study seeks to deepen the understanding of the importance of SUS during the pandemic and identify the main challenges faced by the system in this context. It also proposes solutions to contribute to the construction of a fairer and more efficient healthcare system. Through qualitative and historical research, including an intersectional approach involving health and social work, this study will explore the issues surrounding SUS from its inception to the pandemic period. The expected outcome is a reflection on the universal public health service to demonstrate the impacts of the precariousness of this policy on the population using the services during the pandemic.
