Resumo
The production of poultry and swine in Santa Catarina, strongly concentrated in the West, is unique in the context of rural areas of the state due to the dynamism presented by the meat processing agroindustry, whose breeding activity is largely established in small rural properties, having as a central pillar the integrated model of production organized around family work. This work is focused on analyzing the characteristics that compose the profile of producers integrated to the poultry and pork production chain. The methodological path of this research consisted basically of bibliographic and documental review, and the conduction of fieldworks to obtain information from primary and secondary sources.
