O fazer e o aprender: uma interação singular na produção de mobiliário artístico da Escola de Artes e Ofícios de Amparo

Abstract

Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo compreender o processo de ensino aprendizagem na Escola de Artes e Ofícios de Amparo, no período compreendido entre sua implantação, em 1911, até a década de 1950, período em que a instituição apresentou como principal expoente a produção de bens culturais, em especial o mobiliário artístico. Inicialmente, localizamos a escola no cenário histórico do ensino profissional do Estado de São Paulo e, neste contexto, investigamos as propostas educacionais, enfocando os métodos de ensino nas seções e oficinas, mostrando a importância do ensino de Desenho para a formação profissional e dos modelos para a produção do mobiliário artístico. Em seguida, analisamos peças, produzidas por mestres e alunos nas Seções de Marcenaria e Entalhação, que incorporaram em seus ornatos estilizações com motivos regionais.

This research had as objective to understand the teaching and learning process in the Escola de Artes e ofícios de Amparo, during the period of its foundation, in 1911, until in the fifties, period in which the institution has presented as its main work the production of cultural willing, specially the artistic furniture. Initially we located the school in the historical setting of the professional teaching of São Paulo state and in this context we have investigated its educational purposes, sutudying the teaching methods in the sections and workshop and showing the importance of the drawing teaching in the trade information and in the creation of models to the artistic furniture production. Following we have analyzed pieces made by teacher and students in the woodworking and wood sculptingsection in which they incorporate in their decorations regional styles.
