Resumo
This work aims to investigate the different motivations and goals behind the traveler Saint-Hilarie intentions to invest in a project to enter the Cerrado, and from his narratives and perceptions, we intend to understand how the nature of the Cerrado was interpreted during the nineteenth century. We seek to see why so many derogatory assertions were made by observing the natural surroundings of Goiás.
