dc.description.abstractArbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) play a crucial role in the interactions between plants and soil microorganisms in tropical regions. These symbioses benefit plants by improving nutrient and water absorption and providing resistance against pathogens, including nematodes, bacteria, and fungi. Although AMF show potential for sustainable agriculture by replacing harmful chemical pesticides, their effectiveness depends on environmental factors as well as the plant species and pathogens involved. For greater efficiency in its use as a tool, it is necessary to better understand the defense mechanisms mediated by AMF to optimize its use in various agroecosystems, promoting more ecological, sustainable, and resilient agricultural practices.
