Abstract (portuguese)
A presente tese teve como intuito investigar a fotobiografia produzida pela escritora e fotógrafa amadora Zélia Gattai intitulada Reportagem Incompleta (1986). A partir da análise da fotobiografia, foi possível identificar as histórias visuais produzidas pela autora, permitindo ainda compreendermos as significações e as interações entre memória familiar e coletiva através da construção da memória de Jorge Amado, de sua família e de seus amigos. Além desse ponto, também foi possível verificar algumas das práticas, experiências e visões de mundo, assim como os códigos sociais, costumes e regras de convivência expressas nas fotos que trazem Zélia Gattai, Jorge Amado e os familiares, intelectuais, escritores e artistas com os quais conviveram ao longo de suas vidas no contexto do retorno ao Brasil após a experiência no exílio.
Abstract (english)
This thesis aimed to investigate the photo biography produced by writer and amateur photographer Zélia Gattai entitled Reportagem Incompleta. From the analysis of the photo biography, it was possible to identify the visual stories produced by the author, also allowing us to understand the meanings and interactions between family and collective memory through the construction of the memory of Jorge Amado, his family and his friends. In addition to this point, it was also possible to verify some of the practices, experiences and worldviews, as well as the social codes, customs and rules of coexistence expressed in the photos that show Zélia Gattai, Jorge Amado and the family members, intellectuals, writers and artists with whom they lived throughout their lives in the context of their return to Brazil after their experience in exile.
