Branquitude e cultura antirracista: um debate sobre culturas euro hegemônicas

Abstract

Objetivo: Tem como objetivo esboçar um panorama histórico sobre o racismo, práticas antirracistas e assuntos que abordem temas sobre a branquitude a um grupo de alunos do 7º ano do ensino fundamental II em uma Escola Estadual na cidade de Osasco e debater esse tema na amplitude de suas consequências sociais e emocionais levando a refletir e criar condições para mudança de um paradigma histórico. Método: feito uma seleção de quatro autores mais revelantes sobre o tema como base teórica, a criação e elaboração, respectivamente, de uma disciplina eletiva, “BRANQUITUDE E CULTURA ANTIRRACISTA” e de uma apostila com textos e questões dissertativas e de múltipla escolha para nortear e avaliar o aprendizado. A disciplina teve uma carga horaria de 30 horas, e foi oferecida duas aulas por semana de forma expositiva, com grupos de discussões, redações e recursos em audiovisual através de filmes correlatos ao tema. Resultado: a percepção dos jovens negros como negros, assim como a percepção do privilégio branco pelos alunos brancos, e de forma geral, quais são as atitudes racistas e como identificá-las. Além disso, foi nítido como esse tema acabou levando ao debate outras formas de discriminação que não somente a de raça/cor/etnia. Conclusão: preparar para o enfrentamento de situações racistas que os alunos negros podem vir a sofrer e para o aluno branco, o entendimento do mal que isso causa aos colegas negros.

Objective: It aims to outline a historical overview of racism, anti-racist practices and subjects that address topics about whiteness to a group of students in the 7th year of elementary school II at a State School in Osasco city and to discuss this topic in the breadth of its social and emotional consequences leading to reflection and creating conditions for changing a historical paradigm. Method: made a selection of four most relevant authors on the subject as a theoretical basis. I created an elective subject, “WHITENESS AND ANTIRACIST CULTURE”, after approval by the pedagogical coordination, I prepared a booklet with texts and essay and multiple-choice questions to guide and evaluate learning. The discipline had a workload of 30 hours and was offered two classes a week in an expositive way, with discussion groups, essays and audiovisual through films related to the theme. Result: the perception of young blacks as black, as well as the perception of white privilege by white students, and in general, what are the racist attitudes and how to identify them. In addition, it was clear how this theme ended up leading to other forms of discrimination than just race/color//ethnicity. Conclusion: it was the preparation for facing racist situations that they may suffer and for the white student, the understanding of the harm that this causes to black colleagues.
