Abstract
Unaccustomed high-force eccentric exercise and extreme forms of exercise performed, such as marathon running, have been reported to cause muscle damage and accumulation of inflammatory cells. In order to explore whether some form of strenuous exercise might provide a useful model for the inflammatory process, we studied the effects of physical exercise on blood leukocyte count.
