Relações entre a Aprendizagem de Pontos Críticos de Funções e os Registros de Representação Semiótica

Resumo

In this research, we sought to make a diagnosis of how students who have already attended the discipline of Calculus I demonstrated their knowledge regarding the concepts of Critical Function Points based on Raymond Duval's Theory of Representation Registers. Therefore, a test applied to obtain the data that analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. We conclude that students have difficulties to recognize and make conversions between two or more representation registers for the concepts of Function Critical Points, for example: converting a graphic register into symbolic or natural language and vice versa. It affects the solution of optimization problems, as they do not understand these concepts.
