Análise temporal da qualidade da água da bacia hidrográfica do ribeirão Guaratinguetá (SP)

Abstract

O objetivo desse trabalho foi diagnosticar a qualidade da água da bacia hidrográfica do ribeirão Guaratinguetá durante os dez anos de implementação do Programa Produtor de Água, por meio da análise de parâmetros que compõem o Índice de Qualidade da Água (IQA) extraídos do portal Infoaguas, disponibilizado pela CETESB, e de dados da ocorrência de cianobactérias, fornecidos pela Companhia de Serviço de Água, Esgoto e Resíduos de Guaratinguetá (SAEG). A compilação e a análise destas informações indicaram que apesar do IQA ser um bom índice de qualidade da água, não inclui em seu cálculo poluentes importantes como metais pesados, resíduos de defensivos agrícolas, entre outros, como cianobactérias, e deve ser utilizado com análises complementares. Na bacia hidrográfica do ribeirão Guaratinguetá foi verificado a ocorrência de Escherichia coli em quantidade muito superior ao padrão da Resolução Conama nº 357/2005 para rios de classe 2, o que é preocupante dado que a bacia é responsável por 95% do abastecimento da cidade de Guaratinguetá e a região apresenta um forte fluxo de turistas que tem contato direto com essa água, tanto para banho, quanto para o consumo. Além disso, foi observado no início de 2022 um crescimento na densidade de cianobactérias. Estes resultados indicam a ocorrência de lançamento de esgoto sem tratamento nas águas da bacia, mostrando a necessidade de ações das políticas públicas, para viabilizar o tratamento de esgoto não somente dos produtores rurais, contemplados pelo Programa Produtor de Água, mas por toda a comunidade da bacia do ribeirão Guaratinguetá.

The objective of this work was to diagnose the water quality of the watershed of the river Guaratinguetá during the ten years of implementation of the Water Producer Program, through the analysis of parameters that make up the Water Quality Index (WQI) extracted from the Infoaguas portal, made available by CETESB, and data on the occurrence of cyanobacteria, provided by the Company of Water, Sewage and Waste Services of Guaratinguetá (SAEG). The compilation and analysis of this information indicated that although the WQI is a good water quality index, it does not include in its calculation important pollutants such as heavy metals, pesticide residues, among others, such as cyanobacteria, and should be used with complementary analyses. In the watershed of the river Guaratinguetá it was verified the occurrence of Escherichia coli in an quantity much higher than the standard of Conama Resolution No. 357/2005 for class 2 rivers, which is worrisome because the basin is responsible for 95% of the supply of the city of Guaratinguetá and the region has a strong flow of tourists who have direct contact with this water, both for bathing and for consumption. In addition, an increase in the density of cyanobacteria was observed in early 2022. These results indicate the occurrence of untreated sewage disposal in the waters of the basin, showing the need for public policy actions, to enable the treatment of sewage not only from farmers, covered by the Water Producer Program, but for the entire community of the river Guaratinguetá basin
