Mulheres agricultoras feirantes em Ilha Solteira (SP): conhecimentos e técnicas utilizadas nos sistemas produtivos

Abstract

Thinking about family farming and the change from the conventional agriculture model to an ecologically based model is also thinking about the role that women play in this process. For the most part, this change is induced by female farmers, since in the socio-historical construction of the role of women in society, they were, in most cases, responsible for carrying out care and education activities, being more concerned with health and health issues. preservation of natural resources. In this way, the present study aimed to investigate what are the techniques and knowledge adopted by women farmers in the production systems, in the municipality of Ilha Solteira (SP), in order to analyze whether or not this management presents the characteristics of the agroecological transition process. The research consisted of the application of questionnaires in the form of an interview. In total, 15 female farmers from the settlements of Ilha Solteira (SP) were interviewed. The interviews took place between March and July 2020, through a visit to the South Zone fair and then, due to the pandemic, when it was not possible to do in person, some reports were collected by phone or internet application, according to the preference of the farmers. As a result, it was possible to identify that fairground farmers still follow many conventional technologies in their production systems, however, there is a wealth of alternative practices and a willingness to expand them. Regarding knowledge about agriculture, it was found that, for the most part, it comes from family ties; that there is strong participation and protagonism of women in field work, as they are inserted in the entire process of cultivation and management of production systems. Despite the fact that the understanding of what agroecology is almost unknown, it can be said that, in practice, women farmers have developed techniques and awareness that are consistent with the process of agroecological transition.

Pensar em agricultura familiar e a mudança do modelo de agricultura convencional para um modelo de base ecológica é também pensar no papel que as mulheres ocupam nesse processo. Em sua maioria, essa mudança é induzida por agricultoras, visto que na construção sócio-histórica do papel das mulheres na sociedade, estas, na maioria das vezes, estiveram incumbidas a realizar atividades de cuidado e educação, sendo mais preocupadas com questões de saúde e preservação dos recursos naturais. Desta maneira, o presente estudo objetivou investigar quais são as técnicas e conhecimentos adotados por agricultoras feirantes nos sistemas produtivos, no município de Ilha Solteira (SP), a fim de analisar se esse manejo apresenta ou não as características do processo de transição agroecológica. A pesquisa consistiu na aplicação de questionários na forma de entrevista. No total, foram entrevistadas 15 agricultoras feirantes dos assentamentos de Ilha Solteira (SP). As entrevistas ocorreram entre março e julho de 2020, por meio de visita à feira da Zona Sul e, seguida, devido à pandemia, quando não possível ser feita presencialmente, alguns relatos foram coletados por telefone ou aplicativo da internet, conforme preferência das agricultoras. Como resultado, foi possível identificar que as agricultoras feirantes ainda seguem muitas tecnologias convencionais em seus sistemas produtivos, no entanto, nota-se uma riqueza de práticas alternativas e a disposição pela ampliação das mesmas. Constatou-se, quanto ao conhecimento acerca da agricultura que, em sua maioria, é proveniente dos vínculos familiares; que há forte participação e protagonismo das mulheres nos trabalhos do campo, pois estão inseridas em todo o processo de cultivo e manejo dos sistemas produtivos. Apesar de ser quase desconhecido o entendimento sobre o que é agroecologia, pode-se afirmar que, na prática, as agricultoras feirantes têm desenvolvido técnicas e conscientização coerentes com o processo de transição agroecológica.
