Resumo
The purpose of this article is to recognize how media discourses, as power devices, build mediations sustaining women's disregard at the political field. To do so, the research is based on articles published by the journal Isto E, the journal Veja website, and the material published by Tv Estadao, which belongs to O Estado de S. Paulo newspaper, that present the demerit of women and gender issues in the political scenario, restricting them to private spaces.
