O cumprimento da função social da escola na visão de alunos do ensino médio

Abstract

O meio educacional sofre uma influência direta das alterações ocorridas na sociedade de um modo geral e desta forma o cotidiano das escolas brasileiras sejam elas privadas ou públicas é constantemente marcado por questionamentos intrigantes e desafiadores, aos quais as escolas precisam superar para que possam exercer sua função social de forma efetiva. Caminha-se no entendimento de que a escola possui duas funções básicas: A primeira está ligada à formação escolar de seus alunos, através da disseminação das aprendizagens acumuladas ao longo do tempo, contemplando-os com uma educação formativa (de qualidade), engrandecedora e promotora de um futuro promissor no campo educacional; a segunda função está ligada à formação do indivíduo, ou seja, sua construção como ser-humano, como cidadão, emancipado e conhecedor de seu papel na sociedade. Para tanto, o presente trabalho possui como tema a efetividade do cumprimento da função social por parte da escola pública brasileira. Portanto, possui como objetivo geral analisar se a escola pública brasileira vem conseguindo cumprir de forma eficaz com essa funcionalidade. Partindo-se de tal finalidade, aplicou-se como metodologia o desenvolvimento de um questionário com pontos fundamentais em relação ao entendimento dos alunos quanto à efetividade da função social da escola. Para tanto, é importante ressaltar que ouvir os alunos é de fundamental importância para a eficácia de tal função, pois, os mesmos representam o público alvo da educação e refletem de forma mais fiel às características da real educação a qual são contemplados. Os resultados obtidos estão voltados a uma leitura significativa e qualitativa da educação escolar que vem sendo ofertada na rede pública de ensino, esperando que os mesmos possam promover posteriores discussões sobre o tema nas mais diversas realidades da educação pública brasileira.

The educational environment has a direct influence on the changes that have occurred in society in a general way and in this way the daily life of the Brazilian schools, whether private or public, is constantly marked by intriguing and challenging questions that schools must overcome in order to fulfill their function effectively. It is based on the understanding that the school has two basic functions: The first is linked to the school education of its students, through the dissemination of accumulated learning over time, contemplating them with a formative education (of quality), engrandecedora and promoter of a promising future in the educational field; the second function is linked to the formation of the individual, that is, his construction as a human being, as a citizen, emancipated and knowledgeable of his role in society. Therefore, the present work has as its theme the effectiveness of the fulfillment of the social function by the Brazilian public school. Therefore, it has as general objective to analyze if the Brazilian public school has been able to fulfill effectively with this functionality. Based on this purpose, the methodology used was the development of a questionnaire with fundamental points regarding the students' understanding of the effectiveness of the social function of the school. Therefore, it is important to emphasize that listening to the students is of fundamental importance for the effectiveness of such function, since they represent the target audience of education and reflect more faithfully the characteristics of the real education that are contemplated. The results obtained are aimed at a significant and qualitative reading of the school education that has been offered in the public school system, hoping that they can promote later discussions about the theme in the most diverse realities of Brazilian public education.
