Resumo
Law No. 13.431/2017 establishes the rights guarantee system for children and adolescents who are victims or witnesses of violence, aiming to standardize and organize this system by creating mechanisms to prevent, combat, and protect the youth population from violence. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of this law from the perspective of technical teams and law operators, assessing whether the predicted procedures contribute to ensuring the comprehensive protection of individuals involved in sexual violence complaints. The research employed a qualitative methodology through interviews with 13 professionals, and it is part of the first author’s doctoral thesis. Participants provided positive feedback, emphasizing advancements, while also offering criticisms and elements that deserve to be considered in the debate surrounding this law. We concluded that, despite the importance this subject demands and the legislation’s role in enhancing it, it does not demonstrate sufficient effectiveness in preventing and restraining sexual violence.
