The evolution of the cutting process has been enhanced by the development of new materials and geometries, among other factors. In terms of tool geometries, modifications to tool geometry can be effective in improving machinability, such as with chip breakers and, more recently, with textured surfaces. The benefits of textured cutting tools involve a reduction in contact area, temperatures and forces. In this context, this work proposes an innovative application of textured cutting tools filled with carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Reductions in friction, temperature, and cutting forces, increased tool life, and chip microstructural changes were observed when using carbon nanotubes. Therefore, due to their high thermal conductivity and friction reduction capacity, the application of CNTs in textured cutting tools shows promise.en
