Abstract (english)
This project aims to promote oral health in the community of children and youth served by Social Rugby Project of São José Rugby Association’s in São José dos Campos. In this project it were evaluated about 59 of 120 young people who are part of the Social Rugby Project. The oral health status of each of these children was evaluated by observing visible index plaque, gingival bleeding index and DMFT and we could diagnose their deficiencies in oral health. Educational lectures on oral hygiene, plaque disclosure and supervised brushing were performed. Athletes with curative treatment needs were referred to outpatient care at the São José dos Campos Dental School, UNESP. In October, a new evaluation of the oral health of the athletes will be held.

Este projeto visa promover a saúde bucal na comunidade de crianças e jovens atendidas pelo Projeto Rugby Social da Associação São José Rugby em São josé dos Campos. Neste projeto foram avaliadas cerca de 59 jovens de 120 que fazem parte do projeto Rugby Social. Foi avaliada a condição bucal de cada uma dessas crianças, observando índice visível de placa, índice de sangramento gengival e CPO-d, podendo diagnosticar suas deficiências em saúde bucal. Foram realizadas palestras educativas sobre higiene oral, evidenciação de placa bacteriana e escovação supervisionada. Os atletas com necessidades de tratamento curativo foram encaminhados ao atendimento ambulatorial na Faculdade de Odontologia de São José dos Campos, UNESP. Em outubro, nova avaliação da saúde bucal dos atletas será realizada.
