Resumo
The article aims to discuss the creation of the Drug Laws, adopted by Brazil, its consequences, its implications and consequences for the individual and society. This is a bibliographical and documentary research, whose contribution is based on studies by Boiteux et al (2009), Monteiro and Cardoso (2013), Torcato (2016), Zackseski, Machado and Azevedo (2017), among others. In addition, we were supported by legal provisions, that weave on international and national conventions regarding the criminalization of the use of psychoactive substances, as well as their consumption. We hope that the results of this study will contribute to fostering new discussions in order to pressure public authorities to rethink strategies and initiatives that actually bring solutions to the problem of illicit drugs in Brazil, instead of massively imprisoning the public involved in this social narrative, a subject of growing concern.
